Projects ยท January โ April 2026
Recreate a physical LEGO aircraft in CATIA by modeling individual sections of the set, assembling the complete design, and implementing modifications to improve the original configuration while maintaining compatibility with existing LEGO elements.
Grouped similar LEGO components and measured them with digital calipers, translating the measurements into individual CATIA parts using pads, pockets, and patterns before assembling the complete aircraft from stacked plate assemblies. This required interference checks and iterative adjustments to resolve overlapping geometry. Modifications were constrained to existing LEGO components and included a new nose wheel, a redesigned nose cone, and the removal of unnecessary studs to improve appearance and aerodynamic profile. The completed assembly was documented through engineering drawings and rendered alongside the physical model for comparison.
Dimensioned Engineering Drawing
Rendered Model
Recreated a complex physical LEGO aircraft by reverse engineering individual components into accurate CATIA part models using precision caliper measurements, developing proficiency with CATIA's part design, assembly, drafting, and rendering workbenches. Applied geometric reasoning and interference analysis to resolve part conflicts, implemented design modifications while maintaining compatibility with existing components, and produced professional engineering drawings and rendered visualizations to communicate the completed design.
